Visit the elusive ‘star’ of the Hawekwa Mountain.
If you have time to stop and smell the fynbos, take the short hike to the memorial plaque at the top of the trail (the cross marks the spot to turn up towards the cliffs). This plaque shines like a star when the sun is sitting just right. Be careful if you are wearing MTB shoes. (With thanks to Willie Koorts for coining the ‘star’).

Canetsfontein
This magnificent farm is steeped in history, going all the way back to the seventeen-hundreds. There is natural beauty all around, and we offer unparalleled experiences for you to enjoy it all. And of course, there is the wine. Canetsfontein has a rich history of winemaking and today the farm is a model of modern organic wine farming, producing wines that will linger on your palate and in your memory. But you are here to ride… please contact Canetsfontein directly to book your ride.
Cliffhanger Pro Trail
Discover Canetsfontein's most challenging routes. While we offer a variety of easier estate loops, the iconic Cliffhanger Pro Trail is reserved exclusively for advanced and expert riders. Due to its intense technical nature, it is not open to intermediate or novice cyclists. Skilled mountain bikers seeking a high-consequence ride can book this elite trail for a private 3-hour session.
